What is 700 Kitchen?
700 Kitchen is the Mansion on Forsyth Park's state-of-the-art cooking school and offers the only only interactive, hands-on cooking class in Savannah.
Does 700 Kitchen offer long-term degree oriented classes?
It does not. 700 Kitchen is not a culinary program, but a cooking school focused on those kitchen enthusiasts who enjoy cooking and wish to learn more about food, cooking techniques, and entertaining.
Can I sign-up individually for a class at 700 Kitchen, or do I need to be part of a group?
We offer options for both individuals and groups. The regularly scheduled daytime classes are geared towards individuals.
What options does 700 Kitchen offer groups?
We offer a number of "off-the-shelf" experiences for groups that range from full hands-on to very limited hands-on in the case of a reception with a cooking demonstration station and are also happy to create customized programs.
Groups can schedule functions if a regularly scheduled class does not have current bookings, and the group is willing to buy out the class block (price will be based on the booking capacity of the regularly scheduled class). Do I have to be an overnight guest of the Mansion on Forsyth Park in order to sign up for a cooking class?Not at all - Cooking Classes are open to everyone to experience. They are based on availability and classes can fill up quickly.
When are classes offered?
Classes are typically offered Tuessday through Saturday; times and class topics will vary by day and week. Please review the Class Calendar for availability.
What subjects/classes are offered?
Class topics change throughout the year and are often based on seasonal-oriented menus & holidays, or thematic by cuisine or technique. Please review the Class Calendar for availability
What if I can't find the class schedule for a future month?
Class schedules are posted on the website once they are completed. If a month you are seeking is not listed on the "Culinary Program" page the schedule has not yet been completed. Please check back for updates.
How does a guest book an individual class in 700 Kitchen?To book an individual class, please call 912-721-5043 or email guien.cutlip@mansiononforsythpark.com. We will need to know the names of those attending and a contact number and email. We will also need a credit card number to hold the reservation. Once that has been confirmed you will be emailed a formal confirmation letter. Please contact us at your earliest convenience with the above information as classes fill up quickly.

I have friends who love to cook. Can I purchase a gift for them from 700 Kitchen?
Absolutely. We offer special culinary-oriented merchandise such as logo aprons and personalized chef jackets.
Additionally we offer retail items such as cookbooks, utensils, cooking equipment, food items and our own 700 Kitchen Low Country Spice Seasoning.
Can I buy gift certificates for my friends?
Absoloutely. Gift cards for classes are available for purchase by contacting 912.721.5043.
Does 700 Kitchen host guest chefs?
700 Kitchen has plans to host local and regional guest chefs, cookbook authors, and other notable culinary and baking personalities for special events. Please review the Class Calendar for availability.
Is there a minimum age requirement?
Most classes are typically suited for ages 12 and up. Ages 12-15 should be accompanied by an adult. Kids Culinary Classes will note the ages appropriate for the scheduled class.
How long are Classes?
Most classes are typically 3 hours in length including time to enjoy eating your preparations.
What should I wear when participating in a class?
Comfortable and casual attire is recommended. As you will be on your feet for the better part of class we suggest a comfortable pair of close-toed shoes. Due to safety issues we kindly request that you refrain from wearing sandals and other open-toed shoes. Aprons for in-class use are provided.
Can I enjoy an alcoholic beverage during class?
Wine, beer and cocktails can be a nice complement to a deliciously prepared meal however sharp knives and alcohol do not mix well! Due to safety reasons we cannot allow alcohol during the cooking portion of class. Many classes do have wine or another such beverage included at the end of the session for you to enjoy with your meal. Coffee and water are provided for your enjoyment during class.
