SAVANNAH, GA (January 10, 2008) – The AAA Four-Diamond Mansion on Forsyth Park, a Kessler Collection property, is pleased to announce the appointment of Michael Grove as the new executive chef at the luxurious property in Savannah. He will lead the culinary team for the award-winning 700 Drayton Restaurant, the hotel's six private dining rooms, trendy Casimir’s Lounge, Carriage Wine Cellar, and room service offerings.

 

Grove comes to the Mansion on Forsyth Park with over 13 years of food and beverage experience. Prior to joining the team at Mansion on Forsyth Park, he was the Director of Food & Beverage at the Dataw Island Club in Saint Helena Island, SC. Before that, he was Executive Chef at The Georgian Club and Corporate Chef at the Futren Corporation in Atlanta, GA.

 

Tina Harlow, General Manager of the Mansion on Forsyth Park, says, Michael's extensive experience and knowledge of our unique local market gives him a huge advantage to our culinary program and offerings here. We are excited to have him on board.

 

During his career, Grove also held positions at the Indian Hills Country Club in Marietta, GA, The Hearth at Eagle Watch Golf Club in Woodstock, GA, Criolla's in Grayton Beach, FL, Shades in Seaside, FL, The Mansion in Atlanta, GA, and Elizabeth on 37th in Savannah.

 

Grove studied biochemistry at the University of Georgia as well as completed the Classic City Wine course there and also took part in the Executive Chef Seminar at the Culinary Institute of America.

The Mansion on Forsyth Park opened in April 2005 as a new hotel built adjacent to a renovated 1888 mansion.
